Operating Mission

The operating mission of the charitable gaming division in the Entertainment District will be…

  • To provide an entertainment based gaming experience to those individuals who have the capacity, and are looking for a high quality, upscale, nonsmoking experience in the heart of Downtown Kalamazoo.
  • The target customer will be those individuals who enjoy gaming for the thrill, not the expectation of winning, even though their odds will be comparable to other Casinos. And there will be plenty of winners!
  • We will provide the ultimate experience for their entertainment dollar, while creating enormous benefits for our local businesses and non-profits.

Legal Basis

The Entertainment District in Downtown Kalamazoo has been granted  location # 400151 by the Michigan Lottery to operate Millionaire Parties on behalf of qualified Non-Profits. For more information, please go to www.michigan.gov/cg to learn more about the charitable gaming rules and requirements.

Economic Benefits

It is our hope that our new gaming offerings will provide an enormous benefit to local
Non-Profit Charities, as well as Kalamazoo businesses.

Below are three examples of what we expect could happen:

  • Charity Benefits – We project that we can create over $5 million dollars of income for 200 local charities on an annual basis, which we estimate can make each individual charity between $5,000 to $30,000 of net income over a 16 day period with little risk or effort.
  • Traffic Generation – We expect up to 5,000 people per week will visit our new venues, and consequently park, dine, shop, stay overnight, and enjoy their weekends in Downtown Kalamazoo, as well as the greater Kalamazoo area.
  • Increased Revenues – Entertainment District increases revenues and reinvests it into community and most importantly increases employment, incomes, and taxes paid to local, state and federal government.

Charity Requirements

All a charity needs to qualify is to have a valid Lottery License Number as authorized by the State of Michigan and 1-2 volunteers from your organization willing to help out over a 16 day period. That's it! We take care of the rest. No worries. No stress. Let us do all the work that will make this event a huge success for your charity.
